Impact Investment: Trading Community

Overview

The mission of impact Investment is to connect investors of all levels and provide them with the resources and knowledge needed to be successful in today’s diverse and ever-changing markets.
There collaborative discord community includes educational tools that will allow one to learn all about stocks and options and how to invest/trade successfully. They provide various trade signals for accounts of all sizes and include the reasoning behind their trades. They do this to ensure that user will able to gain a better understanding of how to navigate the stock market and can confidently make trades independently.

Objective

The objective of this project was create a website which would help educate members on how to be successful in
stock-market through trading options. They wanted a platform to show what impact investments had to offer and wanted a connecting page to get there users join their discord community. Without a website the users were connected to impact investment through twitter and instagram or through word of mouth. This website would bring all users to a common stage and would direct them to discord to join they community.

Requirement Gathering

I started working with the stakeholders and got all buisness requirements needed, my aim was to ensure I understood the client goals and objectives. I got this done by sitting with our clients to have a semi structured interview. I had series of Questions prepared which I went through doing a coversation.

Here are some of the Question I Prepared and used during the requirement gathering.

- What is your product and what different do you provide to your user from you competition?
- What are you looking for?
- What you want to achieve from this project/ or your goal?
- How in the current situation you trying achieve the goal?
- What issues you are facing in achieving your goal?
- What task you need there users to accomplish by coming on to your website?
- What is the existing demographic of your users and if you are targeting for other groups as well?
- Timeline, Budget and if they were willing to mange it by themelves after launch
- What was there dream website, what they have actually imagined and looking for?

After gathering all the requirement we were and ready to start our design process and get moving with the project.

Design Process

I follow a simple Design Thinking Process  which emphasizes on understanding user needs, evaluating them, mapping design solutions, validating the designs by conducting usability tests and integrating the feedback. Key learning points from each phase were used in the next phase to make better design decisions. The design and testing phases are in a loop to justify the user centric design process.

Emphathise

Our first step was to understand the people we were designing for.

We went ahead and connected with few existing users of impact investment communities and had a conversational interview to know what task they perform what are there pain point, how they feel and what goals they are trying to achieve. After gathering this information from the users I combined there data created a empathy map to better understand what the users felt and what where their pain points.

Research

After understanding the buisness need and user pain points, I went ahead and did some research of the competitors site, what features they provide and how are we being different and what new are we bringing to the plate.

Competitor 1
Store ConceptAffiliate System?
Membership Plans

Competitor 2
Affiliate system
Financial services (credibility)

Competitor 3
Overwhelming content
Good breakdown of what products offer

Studing through the competitors website helped me understand the use of the unique feature each one had and also brought a question of if we need these features or not. But to answer that question defining a generic yet specific problem statement was important to start the brain storming session.

Problem Statement

Create a website for all level of investors in stock market/trading and provide them with all the resources needed?

Ideation

Conducting Brainstroming session

Our whole team, Mangers, Designers and Developers sat and started brain storming over the problem statement. Our aim was to create a website which brings credibility and showcase reliable information to the users as they can take their finanacial decision through it. Our brainstorming session was on the topic of what features should be included on the website and how can they impact the lives of the users.

The method we used for the brainstorming session was brainwriting where every one where given sticky notes and they were asked to write down there ideas around the problem statement and the features needed.
After that we went with the voting techniques and priotirize the features and the information needed on the website.

Design

Low-Fidelity Prototypes

Brainstorming helped us priotrize the fetures needed so we moved to creating low fi prototypes to depict the concepts and create design alternative and website flow

Color Palette

After creating the low fidelity prototype and getting the flow approved from the CEO we went ahead and started working on our website color palette.
